Swiss watchmaker Oris continues its tribute to jazz by unveiling a timepiece dedicated to James Morrison, the famous Australian trumpeter. The Oris James Morrison Academy of Music Limited Edition is the latest addition to the Academy of Music collection, a series of watches paying tribute to the greatest names in jazz.
A sleek, elegant design
With its 38 mm stainless steel case and gradient blue dial, this watch boasts a classic yet contemporary design. White Arabic numerals and gilded hands add a touch of elegance, while the caseback, engraved with the logo of the Academy of Music founded by James Morrison, underlines the close link between the watch and the artist.
A nod to the world of jazz
For jazz lovers, this watch is packed with subtle details. The counterweight of the second hand, in the shape of a trumpet hook, is an obvious nod to James Morrison's instrument of choice. What's more, this edition is limited to 1234 pieces.
A “Swiss Made” automatic movement
This Oris Artelier is powered by the Oris 733 movement, designed on a Sellita SW 200-1 base. This automatic caliber beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and offers a power reserve of 38 hours. It is equipped with the famous red rotor and also features a fine adjustment and stop seconds system.
