Lepage quality and commitment

As with all Lepage creations, the materials used in this collection are of the highest quality.

Lepage 18k gold (750 gold)

A favorite material of jewelers, gold is a sure bet. Choosing a gold jewel is to make the choice of timelessness. All Lepage creations are made of 750 thousandths gold (18k gold), the finest quality gold available. Gold is immutable and can be reused over and over again. You just have to melt it down to use it again. At Lepage, we use recycled gold to make our jewelry in order to limit our ecological footprint as much as possible. Some of this gold is directly bought back from our customers, so we give a second life to your old jewelry, while preserving the planet's resources.

What is 18k (or 750 thousandths) gold?

The gold used in jewelry is called "750 thousandths gold" because this metal is actually an alloy, composed of 75% pure gold, and 25% other precious metals, which are used to give it a specific color, and strength. In fact, pure gold as found in its natural state is too malleable to be used as such. It is therefore combined with silver, copper or palladium to be worked into jewelry that will not warp when worn.

18k white gold (750 gold)

White gold, before it is processed, is also called "white gold". Indeed, it is the last step of preparation of the jewelry that will give it its beautiful bright color! This last step, rhodium plating, consists of depositing a very thin layer of rhodium (an extremely rare and precious metal) on the entire jewel, so as to cover it. This operation must be repeated regularly, every two or three years, so that your jewelry never loses its beauty and remains radiant as on the first day! All of our white gold jewelry is palladium plated.

18k yellow gold (750 gold)

With its sunny aura, yellow gold has been used for thousands of years to make jewelry, ceremonial and decorative objects. A true reference, yellow gold is generally what the mere mention of the material "gold" evokes in us. Highly resistant to corrosion, stainless and unalterable, a yellow gold jewel naturally reveals its beautiful golden color when simply polished, without additional treatment. It will thus retain its beautiful hue over time, without developing a patina.

18k rose gold (750 gold)

To obtain rose gold, the alloy of which it is composed has a larger share of copper. It is from this metal that the soft pinkish hues known to rose gold come. From one Maison to another, the shade of pink can vary from very weak to more pronounced, depending on the amount of copper in the alloy. Each brand thus offers rose gold jewelry with slightly different colors from each other! Less cold than white gold, and less classic than yellow gold, rose gold is a good compromise if you're looking for jewelry that is both modern and precious.

How to know that a piece of jewelry is made of 18k gold

In order to know the quality of the gold in which your wedding ring is made, you can check the hallmarks that have struck on the piece. The first type of hallmark is the so-called guarantee hallmark, or title hallmark. The Eagle head hallmark guarantees a 750 gold grade (previously called "18k gold" or "18k"), while the scallop shell hallmark identifies 585 gold jewelry (previously called "14k"), and the cloverleaf hallmark identifies 375 gold jewelry (previously called "9k"). These official authentication hallmarks are accompanied by the master hallmark, which is that of the jeweler who made the piece, attesting to the provenance and quality of the jewelry.

Precious stones and diamonds handpicked

Diamonds Lepage

For more than 100 years now, Maison Lepage has been offering jewelry creations, adorned with diamonds. In order to offer you the most beautiful stones, every week our gemologists travel to Antwerp to select one by one the gems that will set the jewelry we offer to our customers. You have a project in mind and are looking for a diamond with specific characteristics? Our experts can search for it for you, and allow you to realize the jewel of your dreams made to measure, thanks to our personalized manufacturing service! All the diamonds we use for our creations are minimum F SI color diamonds, one of the most beautiful qualities of stones. "F" indicates the color of the stone, its whiteness. In the classification, the whitest and brightest diamonds are D color, and the most yellowish Z. A color between D and F is therefore a guarantee of very beautiful whiteness. SI" stands for "Small Inclusions", which are tiny imperfections naturally present in the stone, which appear at the time of its formation. These are only visible with a magnifying glass x10, and are invisible to the naked eye. All jewelry with diamonds larger than 0.50 carat are supplied with an HRD or GIA certificate, attesting to the authenticity of the stone and its origin. This certificate allows the traceability of the diamond, and exposes all its characteristics, like a real identity card.

Precious stones

Did you know? There are only four gemstones: diamond, sapphire, ruby and emerald. All other natural stones are called "fine stones", or "ornamental stones". Fine stones (once called "semi-precious", but this designation is no longer allowed), have the characteristic of being transparent, unlike ornamental stones which are opaque. Gemstones, also known as « colored stones », bring a special touch to a creation, and allow you to express your personality. Existing in many shades, sapphires, emeralds and rubies are rare gems imbued with symbolism. Sapphire Belonging to the corundum family, like ruby, sapphire is a gemstone that comes in many colors. Essentially known in its blue sapphire form, there are actually pink, orange, yellow, green, purple sapphires, and even a unique hue that is called padparadscha, oscillating between pink and orange. A symbol of fidelity, and elevation, blue sapphire is often associated with celestial purity and protection. Giving a piece of jewelry with a sapphire on it is therefore a very beautiful proof of love and commitment! Emerald With its bewitching green color, emerald has been one of the most coveted gemstones for thousands of years. A member of the beryl family, emerald is a gemstone with natural roughness, called "inclusions" or "emerald gardens". These inclusions, forming a light white veil, are elements that contribute to the uniqueness of each stone, and make them unique! Symbolically, emerald is the stone of love, wisdom and rebirth. Giving a ring set with such a precious stone allows to convey strong feelings and to prove one's attachment to a person dear to one's heart... The ruby Like the sapphire, the ruby belongs to the corundum family. Ranging from almost pink to the intense red called pigeon's blood, the rarest color that can exist for a ruby, this gemstone offers a magnificent rendering when set in a ring. Pairing equally well with white gold, yellow gold and rose gold, ruby expresses passion and unconditional love...
