A short story

The Top Time collection created by Willy Breitling in the sixties was intended for a young and dynamic public, not the specialists Breitling usually addresses. This bet paid off and even attracted young women seduced by its bold lines and undeniable elegance. With its eye-catching name, its appearance on the wrist of Sean Connery in "Thunderball", its many variations and its attractive price the Breitling Top Time was an impressive success.This 2021 reissue is distinguished by its yellow and orange details, a red chronograph hand in the shape of a lightning bolt, "squircle" counters, the presence of the Deus credo "In benzin veritas" and its magnificent engraved case back of a full-speed motorcycle driver designed by Deus' artistic director, Carby Tuckwell.

Engine side

This reinterpretation of the Breitling Top Time takes the form of a 41 mm steel automatic chronograph with a bicompax dial. The two chronograph counters, one for the small seconds at 9 o'clock and one for the 30-minute chrono countdown at 3 o'clock, catch the eye thanks to their "squircle" shape. Faceted baton hour-markers are applied. You will also notice the absence of a date window, which allows the whole to be very symmetrical and harmonious. This dial is protected by a curved sapphire glass with anti-reflection treatment on both sides. On the engine side, Breitling relies on its Breitling 23 automatic caliber certified chronometer by the COSC and its 48-hour autonomy.
