Getting to know you

Introduced in 1945, the Rolex Datejust was the first wristwatch to display the date in an aperture on the dial. This watch was, is, and always will be a "must have" for every collector on the planet. The reference we present today appeared in the mid-2000s. It was the first of the six-digit Datejust references to appear, bringing the DJ into the modern era, making extensive use of the brand's new generation materials. It was also the last series to be equipped with the iconic caliber 3135, before being discontinued in 2019.

The archetypal modern Datejust

This model is the archetype of the modern Datejust: a particularly sturdy and comfortable "Oyster" bracelet, an iconic fluted yellow gold bezel and a "Rolesor" configuration. This meeting of gold and steel on the same watch creates a subtle play of balance and harmony. But its little extra charm is of course its sunrayed "Tuxedo" dial, only available on this reference. It features a nice contrast between two colors, perfectly matching the gold and steel combination.

This Datejust 36 is powered by the Rolex caliber 3135. This masterpiece of watchmaking is certified chronometer by the COSC and has been checked by our watchmaker.It offers 48 hours of power reserve, as well as a fast date passage.Note that the date disc is said to be "Casino!", in fact the numerals alternate between white and red...
