The collaboration

The first function of every Oris watch, in the most emotional and pure sense, is to bring joy, to make people smile. For some time, we have been trying to find the ultimate expression of this function and create a watch that is all about joy. That's when the idea came to us: a collaboration with the most cheerful character on the planet, Kermit The Frog from The Muppet Show. Kermit's job is to entertain, to make us smile, and he's been doing it well, for generations.

The Watch

The ProPilot X Kermit Edition has a green dial, but its funniest feature is displayed on the first of every month. We call it "Kermit Day": it's when Kermit's happy face appears in the date window. Like the green dial, the idea of this humorous touch is to encourage us not to take life too seriously. We should smile and do something we enjoy, something fun. Sometimes it only takes five short minutes to settle down in a quiet place for some. For others, it may mean a cup of coffee, a phone call, a bath, a short walk. In short, treat yourself.

Côté technique

Le Calibre 400 d'Oris présenté en 2020 a été conçu pour s'adapter à une large gamme de modèles de la maison indépendante. Il était alors logique de retrouver ce mouvement dans cette nouvelle gamme ProPilot X. Totalement inédit et conçu en intégralité par la Manufacture Oris, ce mouvement automatique défini « la nouvelle norme de performance en horlogerie » selon la marque. Indeed, there are four important characteristics to remember about this caliber:

• Thanks to the use of two barrels, this Calibre 400 can deliver up to 120 hours of power reserve.
• It offers an accuracy of up to -3/+5 seconds per day, exceeding the COSC requirement of -4 to +6 seconds per day.
• About thirty non-ferrous components are present within the Calibre, thus allowing a proven antimagnetism. One finds in particular an escapement wheel and a silicon anchor.
• It comes with a ten-year warranty and only requires maintenance every ten years as well.

Moreover, this caliber is visible on the back through a sapphire crystal. Its finishes are sober and correspond to the philosophy of the caliber and the brand. We can appreciate a uniform sandblasting that highlights the different parts of this Caliber 400, and we can also notice the head of the teddy bear, mascot of the house Oris. The rubies for the eyes, the barrels for the ears and the openworked oscillating weight for the smile.
