Inspired by the archives

Seiko draws inspiration from its archives to create a new "Time Sonar": remember the 7015-6010, a little nugget from the 1970s! An unusual model with the distinctive feature of a transparent dial featuring the date and day disc! For this special edition, Seiko is reusing this design code in its flagship Seiko 5 Sports line!

This new "Time Sonar" takes up the dimensions of the basic model, with its 42.5 mm diameter and 134 mm thickness. Its steel case has an attractive polished-brushed finish for a "toolwatch" look. This case offers water resistance to a depth of 100 meters.

The vintage inspiration displayed by this Seiko 5 Sports comes first and foremost from its transparent blue dial. But a touch of modernity is added with large applied indexes, luminescent hands and a rotating bezel in blue tones. Finally, the most appreciable detail is the day display in "Kanji", an element that many Seiko fans adore!

Finally, this watch is dressed in a fully brushed "Oyster"-style steel bracelet, for optimum comfort!

Technical side

This Seiko 5 Sports "Time Sonar" embeds the self-winding Manufacture Calibre 4R36. This is one of the Japanese firm's must-have movements, which is notably used in most Presage and Prospex watches. It beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers a 42-hour power reserve. Designed to be reliable and robust, its construction is as simple as possible. What's more, it offers a most appreciable "Day / Date" complication!
