The Roadster collection

The "Roadster" watch collection was first launched in 2001. It was intended to be much sportier than the dress watches in the other collections. At the time, the series was inspired by the automotive world of the 1950s and 1960s, and in particular by "roadsters", those famous sports cars with racy, curved bodies. The design of these vintage cars was echoed in the case: the magnifying glass in the date display recalls the air intake opening on the hood, the pomegranate-shaped crown recalls the cooling fins, and the screws at the corners of the case are a nod to the vehicles' headlights. The tonneau case, meanwhile, recalls the round, aerodynamic design of sports cars, particularly those of the mid-twentieth century such as the Porsche 356.

Unfortunately, like many of these famous automobiles, the Roadster watch was manufactured for far too short a period. Indeed, this watch series was discontinued in 2013 to the regret of collectors...

Let's get acquainted

This automatic Roadster Chronograph features a 40 x 47 mm flattened tonneau-shaped steel case with two rectangular pushers and a uniquely designed crown. It features three ovoid-shaped counters backed by the manufacture's signature large Roman numeral hours. Large luminescent sword-shaped hands run across the black dial and tachymeter scale. All protected by a sapphire crystal.

Aesthetically pleasing, this watch is both sporty and elegant in an intricately designed case! Its steel bracelet with a brushed polished finish adds that little something extra to this inimitable watch.

Finally, as far as the caliber is concerned, we find the famous ETA 2894-A2, equipped with classic chronograph functions: central chronograph seconds hand, small seconds at 3 o'clock, 30-minute counter at 9 o'clock and 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock. A reliable, high-performance caliber offering 42 hours of power reserve.
