The story

In 1904, Louis Cartier gave watchmaking a real boost when he created one of the very first modern wristwatches for his Brazilian aviator friend, so he could tell the time mid-flight. The Santos was, in fact, the first watch for pilots. In other words, it was the first watch designed for a specific public, with specific requirements other than simply telling the time. On closer inspection, the Santos is undoubtedly the watch that brought watchmaking into the modern era.

This variant of the Cartier Santos Ronde Solo offers a classic and versatile aesthetic, suitable for both men and women while retaining the characteristics of the original Santos! Indeed, this model launched in the 1990s retains the screws on the bezel and the integrated-look bracelet but abandons the right angles.

Located in a 33 mm stainless steel case, this Santos features a sapphire crystal, exposed polished bezel, beautiful white enamel dial with Roman hour markers, blue sword-shaped hands, cabochon-cut sapphire on the crown and stainless steel bracelet with integrated rivets.

This watch is powered by the Cartier 049 automatic caliber based on the ETA 2892-2, a reliable and efficient everyday caliber offering 42 hours of power reserve.
