Rolex Submariner 14060M automatic 40 mm circa 2001

The story

Rolex launched the Submariner reference 14060 in 1989, to replace its mythical 5513. It then marked the new generation of undated Submariners and is considered one of Rolex's first modern references, breaking with the era of four-digit vintages. The 14060 is distinguished from its predecessor by the use of a new caliber, the introduction of sapphire crystal, and a new dial with circled hour-markers. Water resistance has also been improved, with water resistance increased to 300 m.

Then, in 1999, Rolex equipped its 14060 with a brand-new automatic movement, the legendary Calibre 3130. Thus was born the 14060M, where "M" stands for "modified". That's not the only modification; the dial of the Submariner 14060M has also switched from Tritium to Luminova.

Many changes have taken place on this reference. Indeed, in 2007 the 14060M became a certified chronometer and additional text was added to the dial, sometimes referred to as COSC or 4 lines. Finally, from 2007 to 2011, the 14060M Submariner was produced with an engraved inner flange.

The example we're pleased to offer is a 2001 "K" series, it features a black "glossy" dial with white gold circled hour markers. This Submariner is in perfect condition. It is fitted with its "Oyster" bracelet ref 93150, and its case with pierced lugs lends it the charm of vintage pieces. Which makes it an entirely original watch!
