The story

While today Citizen is best known for its affordable watches, it's worth remembering that the Japanese brand was one of the pioneers in the use of titanium in watchmaking. In 1970, Citizen was the first company to market a titanium watch. Building on this expertise, which is certainly expected in high-end watches, Citizen is now launching a new Super-Titanium series. And after last month's launch of a small-second version of its now-famous Tsuyosa, Citizen is continuing in the same vein, but in a completely different and bloody clever way. This is how it introduces the Super Titanium Small Seconds NJ0180 series, watches with integrated bracelet that are more modern, lighter and just as affordable!

The model

Although not part of the Tsuyosa collection, it could almost be considered its titanium sister! This model features a tonneau-shaped case measuring 40.5mm wide by 11mm thick, an ideal size combined with 100-meter water-resistance and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.

Topped with a polished circular bezel, the case is made of Super Titanium with the Duratect surface-hardening process, giving it lightness and strength.

This design is complemented by a dial featuring a unique texture reminiscent of natural surfaces such as rock. On this model, the dial is blue. The small seconds display at 4-5 o'clock adds a touch of originality while preserving the clarity of reading ensured by large applied indexes and luminescent hands. To complete the sporty-chic 1980s look of this Citizen NJ0180 Series, an integrated Super Titanium bracelet is fastened with a folding clasp.

This latest addition to the Tsuyosa collection features a Manufacture 8213 self-winding caliber. Beating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, it offers a comfortable 45-hour power reserve and, above all, an attractive finish. Visible through its transparent caseback, its mechanical intimacy is limitless! On this caliber, we can note the presence of the stop seconds, perfect for precisely setting the time on your watch!
