The Tudor 1926 Luna unveils the very first moon phase in the brand's history, in a 39 mm steel case. Featuring a champagne sunray satin-finished dial enhanced by a delicate gold disc designed by Jay Chou, it combines celestial poetry, watchmaking heritage, and timeless elegance.

The 1926 Collection

The 1926 collection takes its name from a founding date: the year when Hans Wilsdorf, visionary and founder of Rolex, registered the Tudor brand. From the very beginning, the ambition was clear: to offer watches of a quality equivalent to that of the greatest Swiss manufactures, but at an accessible price, democratizing watchmaking excellence. This bold mission, still at the heart of the brand’s DNA, has made Tudor a benchmark for discerning enthusiasts.

The 1926 line stands out for its classic elegance and understated sophistication. Its aesthetic codes are inspired by the very roots of the brand: domed dials, applied Arabic numerals alternating with faceted arrow-shaped indexes, and meticulous finishes. Every detail reflects Tudor’s commitment to refinement, without ever sacrificing the robustness and reliability that have forged its reputation for nearly a century.

It is within this heritage that the new 1926 Luna takes its place. For the first time in its history, the brand introduces a poetic complication: the moonphase indicator. More than just a technical evolution, this creation marks a symbolic turning point, linking Tudor’s watchmaking rigor to a universal imagination—that of the lunar cycle. A true first that enriches the 1926 collection with a new dimension, at once cultural, mythological, and emotional.

Refined Design and Creative Touch

With its 39 mm 316L steel case, finely polished, the Tudor 1926 Luna asserts a look that is both classic and contemporary. The smooth bezel, meticulously finished, captures the light and frames a domed dial with sunray satin finishes available in three refined shades: deep black, intense blue, and luminous champagne. Each version reflects a distinct personality, yet all share the same understated sophistication, true to the spirit of the 1926 collection.

The champagne sunray dial of the Tudor 1926 Luna captures light with rare intensity. Its warm reflections shift between golden softness and radiant brilliance, offering a changing spectacle as the wrist moves. This hue, both refined and timeless, evokes the golden age of classic watchmaking while fitting seamlessly into a modern, elegant, and universal aesthetic.

The applied Arabic numerals at even positions alternate with faceted arrow-shaped indexes, creating a subtle play of shadows and light. Every detail of the dial has been designed to enhance legibility while strengthening the visual identity of the 1926 collection. The polished sword-shaped hands blend harmoniously with the champagne tone, adding a discreet touch of sophistication.

At 6 o’clock, the moonphase indicator immediately draws the eye. Designed by Tudor’s ambassador Jay Chou, it is distinguished by its delicately crafted golden disc. This golden moon, which wanes and waxes behind a black cut-out, symbolizes the eternal cycle of our satellite. The combination of the disc’s soft gold and the champagne dial tone creates a particularly captivating visual harmony—like a golden full moon illuminating a night sky.

Movement and Complication

At the heart of the Tudor 1926 Luna beats the T607-9 calibre, a Swiss-made self-winding mechanical movement of “chronometer grade.” The fruit of Swiss micromechanical expertise, this mechanism has been carefully adjusted to ensure daily precision and reliability. Hidden behind its steel caseback, it remains nonetheless decorated and assembled according to the demanding standards of Tudor’s manufacture in Le Locle, Switzerland.

In addition to the classic display of hours, minutes, and seconds, this movement powers a complication unprecedented in the brand’s history: the moonphase indicator. Positioned at 6 o’clock, it follows the lunar cycle of approximately 29.5 days with poetic precision. Day after day, the golden moon appears and disappears behind the black cut-out, faithfully reproducing the celestial ballet.

The whole is protected by a robust 316L steel case water-resistant to 100 meters, ensuring a versatility that goes well beyond that of a dress watch. Thanks to its screw-down crown and domed sapphire crystal, the 1926 Luna combines classic elegance with modern resilience.

The Steel Bracelet

The steel bracelet of the 1926 Luna perfectly illustrates Tudor’s attention to detail. Designed with a 7-link construction, it alternates satin finishes on the outer links with polished finishes on the central links, creating a subtle and elegant contrast. This combination of textures enhances the play of light while adding understated sophistication, harmoniously complementing the champagne dial. A direct heir to Tudor’s historic bracelets, this construction gives the timepiece remarkable suppleness and optimal comfort on the wrist, without compromising durability.
