The Navitimer, a long history

It was in 1952 that the first Breitling all-black Navitimer was born. A certain Willy BREITLING is contacted by an American association, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, AOPA) to create a chronograph. The latter decided to develop a real instrument that could be worn directly on the wrist in order to allow pilots to make their calculations at a glance, a real advance for the time. With the help of a mathematician named Marcel ROBERT, Breitling succeeded, after numerous trials and tests, in presenting a small revolution in the world of aviation and watchmaking, the Breitling Navitimer 806.

What's new

The most important innovation here is the return to its roots. The new Breitling Navitimer is a distillation of the best of what the Swiss watchmaking company has been able to do over the 70 years of the collection's existence. It is presented in a 41 mm case and houses the famous Manufacture Calibre B01, certified by the COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres). Three white sub-counters adorn the blue dial and the diamond-set bidirectional bezel with slide rule. Last but not least, the unique feature that is so nostalgic is the return of the AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) wings to their original position at 12 o'clock.
