Created in 1957 to meet the needs of engineers and scientists exposed to intense magnetic fields, the Railmaster is one of OMEGA's most unique creations. Less well known than its sisters in the “Professional” trilogy—the Speedmaster and the Seamaster 300—it has nevertheless made its mark on watchmaking history with its technical prowess. Resistant to 1,000 gauss at the time, it was already striving for functional excellence.

More than 65 years later, this discreet icon returns in a modernized version, faithful to its heritage but equipped with the brand's most advanced technologies.

A refined aesthetic, rooted in reality

This new 2025 version faithfully captures its utilitarian spirit. The 38 mm stainless steel case has ideal proportions: elegant yet robust, discreet yet legible. Polished and brushed surfaces alternate with precision, revealing every facet in the light. The Seamaster Aqua Terra's signature lugs reinforce the line's coherence while offering excellent wearing comfort.

But it is the dial that captivates. Gray in the center, it gradually darkens to deep black at the edges. This subtle gradient, executed with rare skill, gives the piece a natural depth and a sense of breathing space. There are no appliqués or sunburst effects: here, legibility and honesty of design reign supreme.

Pure to the extreme, this new Railmaster makes no unnecessary aesthetic concessions. Only the essential inscriptions – OMEGA, Railmaster and Swiss Made – appear in a simple font.

The hour markers and Arabic numerals are painted white and coated with Super-LumiNova for optimal readability, day and night. The blue hue of the markers and green of the hands create a subtle contrast in the dark. This color scheme reinforces the technical and utilitarian character of the watch, while giving it a strong visual presence.

A mechanical heart at the cutting edge of precision

Beneath the engraved transparent case back lies the Omega 8806 caliber, a movement certified as a Master Chronometer by METAS, guaranteeing:

• Magnetic resistance of 15,000 gauss, 250 times greater than the ISO standard
• A power reserve of 55 hours

The movement is decorated with arabesque-style Geneva stripes. The blackened screws, rhodium-plated rotor and subtly engraved oscillating weight: every detail is a testament to the brand's mechanical expertise, without ostentation.

A bracelet reinvented for comfort and elegance

The three-link stainless steel bracelet has been redesigned to fit the wrist perfectly. Its slightly domed links, with alternating polished and brushed finishes, recall the Aqua Terra bracelets while asserting the Railmaster's unique identity.

It is equipped with a tool-free micro-adjustable butterfly clasp, allowing for precise adjustment of up to 2 mm — a detail that makes all the difference in everyday wear.
