When Breitling introduced the Superocean in 1957, the Swiss Maison sought not only to meet the needs of professional divers, but to do so with style. Two references were launched—the 1004, a classic three-hand model, and the 807, the world's first diving chronograph—marking the beginning of a more aesthetic approach to the tool watch. Their sleek design, arrow-shaped hands, and rotating bezel immediately struck a chord with enthusiasts of both the sea and beautiful watches.

In 2025, the Superocean Heritage collection received its first major redesign since 2017. More elegant, more balanced, and still faithful to the spirit of the 1950s, it returns with new proportions, modernized materials, and upgraded technical features. The chronograph models feature the B01 manufacture caliber while retaining their retro identity. More than a tribute, this new generation is a brilliant reinterpretation of an icon.

The model: black, gold, and sporty power

The UB0156H11B1S1 reference embodies a more audacious version of the Superocean Heritage 42 mm. The case combines stainless steel with 18-karat red gold elements on the bezel and screw-down crown for a subtle yet striking contrast. The matte black dial, balanced by two chronograph sub-dials and a date at 6 o'clock, offers optimal readability. The whole is protected by a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.

Instead of a mesh bracelet, this version features a black textured rubber strap that is supple, durable, and more sporty. It fits naturally around the watch case, extending the dark hue of the dial and highlighting the warm reflections of the red gold. Water-resistant to 200 meters, equipped with a screw-down transparent case back and a scratch-resistant black ceramic bezel, this version is designed for action without compromising on elegance.

The Breitling Caliber 01

Like all chronograph versions of this new generation, the UB0156H11B1A1 is powered by the in-house caliber B01. This self-winding movement is a masterpiece of Swiss engineering, featuring a column wheel, vertical clutch, and a 70-hour power reserve. Its precision is certified by the COSC, and its layout, visible through the sapphire case back, attests to Breitling's technical expertise.
