With its 42 mm steel case and sporty-chic lines, the Polaris Chronograph Ocean Grey embodies Jaeger-LeCoultre's functional elegance. Its deep and vibrant ocean gray lacquered dial plays with light thanks to 35 layers of lacquer applied by hand, enhanced with orange accents that emphasize its dynamic character. Supplied with two interchangeable straps – blue-grey canvas and textured black rubber – it adapts to any style. Powered by the Manufacture Calibre 761 with integrated chronograph and vertical clutch, it offers a 65-hour power reserve and unfailing precision.
The Polaris spirit: a legacy reinvented
Jaeger-LeCoultre's Polaris collection takes its name and inspiration from a legendary timepiece: the 1968 Memovox Polaris, a diving alarm watch that made its mark on its era with its bold design and innovative functions. When Jaeger-LeCoultre relaunched this line in 2018, it breathed new life into it, staying true to the brand's DNA: perfectly mastered sporty elegance combined with genuine technical expertise. Polaris is not just any sports watch: it embodies a contemporary vision of exploration – that of everyday life, urban adventures, and a taste for precision in every detail.
With its robust cases, multi-level finished dials, in-house movements, and interchangeable straps, the Polaris collection is designed for those who want a watch that can adapt to any situation: the office, the weekend, the great outdoors, or a faraway getaway. It is designed to accompany a life on the move, with elegance and without ever compromising on performance. In keeping with this tradition, the Polaris Chronograph stands out as the most dynamic and expressive version, combining timekeeping with aesthetic power.
A sleek chronograph with a striking design
With the Polaris Chronograph Ocean Grey Q9028651, Jaeger-LeCoultre brilliantly reinterprets its iconic sport-chic watch in a new version with an ocean grey lacquered dial. A true miniature work of art, the dial fascinates with its rich shades ranging from light grey to deep grey, highlighted by bright orange accents. Achieved by manually applying a transparent varnish, layers of colored and then black lacquer, and 30 layers of translucent lacquer, this gradient offers exceptional visual depth, magnified by three distinct finishes: a sunray center, a grained ring for the applied hour markers, and a polished tachymetric bezel.
Two counters balance the composition: a 30-minute totalizer at 3 o'clock and a small seconds counter at 9 o'clock, each decorated with a fine circular grain pattern. True to the heritage of sports chronographs, a tachymeter scale surrounds the dial, while skeletonized hands and large luminescent trapezoidal hour markers ensure optimal readability. The 42 mm steel case echoes the strong codes of the Polaris collection: alternating polished and satin finishes, short curved lugs, a thin bezel and a large screw-down crown, a nod to the designs of the 1960s. It comes with two interchangeable straps—one in textured black rubber and one in blue-gray canvas—offering comfort, durability, and versatility. Water-resistant to 100 meters, this new version is ready to take on any challenge.
A precision engine: the 761 caliber
The Polaris Chronograph Q902843J is powered by the Jaeger-LeCoultre 761 caliber, a high-performance integrated chronograph movement. Designed and assembled at the heart of the Vallée de Joux manufacture, this caliber features a column wheel combined with a vertical clutch, ensuring immediate, smooth and jump-free start-up. Its 65-hour power reserve allows for extended use without constraint, a valuable asset for those who alternate between periods of activity and moments of rest.
The technical sophistication of this movement, its reliability and impeccable finish embody Jaeger-LeCoultre's ongoing commitment to high-end watchmaking, combining mechanical innovation and traditional craftsmanship. With the Polaris Chronograph, the Grande Maison offers a timepiece that is robust, refined and highly desirable.
