This anniversary Moonwatch is faithful to the style of the most famous Speedmaster, the 4th generation, which was the first watch worn on the moon and features a 42 mm case, a hand-wound movement, a tricompax presentation of the dial and a bezel with a tachymeter scale. Of course this 2020 version embodies the best of modern technology and from this point of view, this Speedmaster Snoopy is breathtaking :

• Omega 3861 hand-wound caliber with Co-Axial Escapement. Certified Master Chronometer by METAS, this movement is resistant to magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss and offers a power reserve of 50 hours.
• Laser engraved silver dial
• Blue ceramic tachymeter scale with white enamel inscriptions
   

Every detail matters

This 2020 edition of Snoopy is loaded with details and nods to the historic partnership between Omega and NASA. Let's start with the caseback, which is simply stunning. The Moon's dark side is represented on the sapphire crystal using a micro-structured metallization process. Meanwhile, on a "magic" disc located just underneath and visible through transparency, Snoopy is walking around in a white service and control module (CSM) when the chronograph function is activated! He then circles the dark side of the moon as a tribute to the Apollo 13 crew's journey. The Earth's disc rotates once a minute in tandem with the watch's seconds hand to symbolize the Earth's rotation. But that's not all, you'll also notice :

• The dot above the number 90 in a glance at the history of the Speedmaster
• The quote "Eyes on the Stars" which appears on the caseback of the watch
• The trajectory of Apollo 13 which is embossed on the lining of the Nylon strap with the famous acceleration around the dark side of the moon
