Getting to know you

The profile of this SBGW003 is simply superb and elegant, just as the name "Elegance Collection" suggests. Its rose gold case offers contained measurements (39mm in diameter for 11.6mm thick), and an exceptional finish alternating Zaratsu polished surfaces and satin-brushed finishes.

Elegance is also present with its superb dial! Its pattern is inspired by the silver birch forest located near the Shizukuishi Studio where Grand Seiko produced this watch and all its mechanical timepieces. When the angle of view changes, the dial sparkles green and white, just like the trees when the summer light catches the leaves and white bark of the trunks.

Playing the sobriety card to the hilt, markings are kept to a minimum, revealing only the brand name, and the dial surface of this watch is punctuated with faceted indexes and hands that are one of the identifying markings of Grand Seiko productions. A small detail that adds to its charm: the curvature of the hands is done by hand!

Exceptional mechanics

Behind its sapphire caseback, we find the Manufacture caliber 9S64. This is one of the lion brand's rare hand-wound mechanical movements. Offering a comfortable power reserve of around three days (72 hours) when fully wound, it aims to be stable and precise. As Grand Seiko's chronometric standards are stricter than those of the COSC, the movement has been set to 6 positions, guaranteeing a precision of -3 to +5 seconds per day, with a balance beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. What's more, to prevent damage to the mainspring due to excessive winding, this hand-wound caliber benefits from a special sliding-flange structure.

This movement is hand-assembled by the craftsmen of the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi.

By choosing to equip this watch with a mechanical caliber, the watch is thus very slim, and lets us admire these "Côtes de Tokyo" decorated bridges, offering many light play effects.

This Grand Seiko is in excellent condition and will be delivered Full Set, with its original case and all its papers. The warranty card is dated 2022, so this model is under Grand Seiko warranty until 2027!
