Amethyst and Ancient Greece

But the legends don't end there! While one day Dionysus was then on a bad day, he decided to take revenge on the first man who crossed his path. The first "man" was in fact a pretty young girl, worshipper of Artemis. Dionysus then drunk and furious launched tigers after her. To protect her, Artemis transformed the girl into a stone statue... But the spell could not be reversed. Filled with remorse, Dionysus poured wine over the statue and gave birth to Amethyst...

Amethyst in the Middle Ages
