Rolex Submariner Date "Kermit" 16610LV automatic 40 mm circa 2006

The basics

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the world's most iconic diving watch, Rolex introduced the Submariner 16610LV in 2003, which was produced over a period of 7 years only. The two letters "LV" at the end of the reference stand for "Lunette Verte" (Green Bezel). Generating mixed reactions from fans for this unorthodox color choice, it is now considered a collector's item precisely because of this unusual color. Indeed, until the release of the "Kermit", the nickname given to this model by the brand's aficionados, all Rolex sports watches had a black bezel. This will give a special aura to this anniversary Submariner, which is snapped up by collectors. Technically identical to the Submariner Ref. 16610, already in production for several years and considered the best and most popular Submariner in modern history, this new reference 16610LV is more than just its green bezel. In fact, the Rolex Submariner 16610LV features the new "Maxi Dial" with larger hour markers and hands inspired by the Yacht-Master released in 1991. As with many Rolex collectibles, the 16610LV references will feature slight aesthetic variations that collectors love to differentiate!

The example we are pleased to offer is a "Z" series produced around 2006. This model features a case without engraved flange, a bezel with a "Slim Four" insert in a dark green color and also has a Mark IV dial that can be recognized by:

• The "Swiss Made" inscription between the 28 / 32 minute markers becomes elongated.
• The round O of Rolex
• The "R" in the word "Oyster" is placed towards the center of the "R" in "Rolex".

Its Oyster bracelet, reference 93250 with armored links, is in very good condition, as is the rest of the watch. It has been satin-finished and polished. Its folding clasp has a date code OP10, corresponding to production in October 2006. This watch is powered by the Manufacture caliber 3135, the movement most frequently used by Rolex and equipping numerous Submariner, Sea-Dweller, Deepsea and other models...

Last but not least, this watch is still equipped with its original sapphire crystal!

This watch in very good condition will be delivered with its Rolex case. This Submariner 16610LV has been authenticated and inspected by our Rolex-approved watchmaker and as such benefits from the Lepage Vintage 1-year warranty. A free engraving (case back) is available on request.
