First released in 2005, the Planet Ocean 600 M is part of the Seamaster collection and keeps Omega's maritime heritage in mind. It represented a turning point for Omega dive watches, being the watch of all superlatives in the brand's catalogue. Like the first Planet Ocean released in 2005, the reference 2200.50.00 offers a robust and sporty design. It features a 45.5 mm diameter, 15 mm thick steel case, an easily adjustable screw-down crown, a helium valve and a unidirectional diver's bezel.

On the dial, as on the case, this Planet Ocean puts the emphasis on diving, with a configuration offering optimal legibility thanks to its bold indexes and hands. There is also a date window that blends in at three o'clock, giving the watch a complication that is useful in everyday life, but without detracting from its primary purpose: diving.

Since its launch, Omega has always prioritised the Planet Ocean when it comes to updating its watches with the brand's latest innovations. Indeed, when this model was launched in 2005, it was the first OMEGA dive watch to use a movement equipped with the brand's Co-Axial escapement! It features the OMEGA calibre 2500, which is a significantly improved version of the basic ETA 2892-A2 calibre. This automatic movement offers a 48-hour power reserve and is chronometer-certified, while being protected by a steel caseback engraved with the Seamaster line's iconic seahorse.
