The Cartier Santos is a milestone piece in the history of watchmaking. This very masculine model has a ravaging look and we know this beauty well as we sold it to its current owner.
In 1904, Louis Cartier gave a real boost to watchmaking by creating one of the very first modern wristwatches for his Brazilian friend, an aviator, to be able to tell the time in full flight. The Santos is, in fact, the first watch for pilots. That is to say, the first watch intended for a particular public, with particular demands, other than the simple reading of the time. On closer inspection, the Santos is undoubtedly the watch that brought watchmaking into the modern era.
This contemporary and sporty interpretation of the Santos de Cartier is decidedly modern. Indeed, this Cartier Santos 100 chronograph XL watch plays with muscles by offering a square case of 40x40 mm. Nevertheless, the curvature of its case and its high level of finishing make it a very pleasant luxury object to wear. Its bracelet was designed for active men and is distinguished by the use of a coated canvas. Its dial is as atypical as ever and respects the Cartier style with its large signature Roman numerals. It is powered by an automatic caliber and is water resistant to 100m.
This piece was issued by Lepage in Lille in 2007. We have the original case. The warranty card and the instructions for use are also provided. This Cartier Santos 100 chrono XL has been authenticated and tested by our watchmakers and benefits from the Lepage Vintage 1 year warranty.
