On January 10, 1969, Zenith presented the fruit of the project bearing the code name 3019 PHC, which was to become a milestone. Its automatic chronograph movement was quickly called El Primero, "the first" in Esperanto. It was simply the first high-frequency automatic chronograph.

A feat that is still relevant today

With compact dimensions (6.5 mm thick and 29.33 mm in diameter), it incorporates a chronograph capable of measuring short and long times to 1/10th of a second using an architecture developed around a colonn wheel. The whole beating at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour. A feat that is still relevant today!
