Popularized by Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now, this 1969 Rolex GMT-Master 1675 "Pepsi" bezel is considered a true icon. Produced for more than 20 years, from 1959 to 1980, this Mark 1 reference is a rare and sought-after model because its matte dial has the famous "Long E". Its tritium indexes and hands have a magnificent homogeneous patina. Behind the case back hides the caliber 1575 which will introduce the 19600 vibrations per hour frequency and the 48 hours power reserve at Rolex. Its curved plexiglass protects a Mercedes hand, a lollipop second hand and a "big GMT". The crown of this 1675 has a small notch protected by the "rounded crown gards". If there was only one vintage Rolex GMT Master, it would surely be the number one choice of collectors.
What you should know
The Mark 1 Long "E" dial benefits from a magnificent eggshell patina with its painted hands and indexes. Completely uniform, it will evolve with time. The watch is equipped with a 6251H bracelet and a Fat Font aluminum bezel recognizable by its 8 oval. Nicely discolored, the bezel has a unique charm.
