Rose gold ring, between softness and delicacy

Rose gold, what is it?
Just like yellow gold and white gold used by jewelry Maisons, rose gold is an alloy of several metals. It is called "18k gold (750 gold)" because it is actually composed of 75% pure gold, and 25% other precious metals, which are used to give it a specific color, and strength. Indeed, pure gold is too soft and too malleable to be used as such, it is thus associated with silver, copper or palladium to be worked and to give life to jewels which will not be deformed while being carried. The rose 18k gold (750/1000 gold) is generally composed of an alloy of pure gold, silver and especially copper, in a more or less important quantity. It is this same quantity of copper that gives it its rose colour, pronounced or not. At Lepage, we use a very soft rose gold to shape our jewelry, so that the colour remains easy to wear. Combined with a diamond or colored stone, rose gold brings to life poetic creations, which look especially good on dark skin.
