A classic and elegant watch

The SBGA293 features a 40.2mm by 12.8mm steel case, polished in the Zaratsu style, allowing for a distortion-free finish. Very elegant, it is a nod to the classic Grand Seiko design. The case is topped with a domed box-shaped sapphire crystal. The watch is dressed with a black crocodile leather strap associated with a folding clasp with push buttons.

Its dial is worthy of what we know from Grand Seiko: a grainy texture with an ivory colour, featuring a power reserve indicator at 8 o'clock. The dauphine hands are finely polished, as are the faceted, hand-applied indexes. The seconds hand will glide smoothly over the dial, thanks to its visible calibre on the back of the watch.

Animated by a Spring Drive

Inside the watch is a 9R65, the most common Spring Drive movement. It is a calibre designed and assembled by the watchmakers of the Shinshu Watch Studio, one of Grand Seiko's two factories. A unique and exclusive technology from the Japanese brand, the Spring Drive combines traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology: a mainspring drives a series of cogs to power a state-of-the-art electronic technology, the tri-synchro, which replaces the usual balance wheel. Operating without batteries or any other external energy source, this watch boasts unprecedented precision. Indeed, it offers an accuracy of +/- 1 second per day, and has a power reserve of 72 hours.
