Night diving is a great way to experience the sea in a completely different way than day diving. This limited edition of 5,500 pieces evokes the underwater world at night and joins the "Black Series" collection. Its black case expresses the darkness and silence of the ocean at night, while the orange color is inspired by the lights that illuminate it.

Modern reinterpretation of the 1965 Diver's

This Prospex watch reference SPB257J1 is the modern reinterpretation of the Japanese diving watch of 1970. Easily recognizable thanks to its streamlined shape, it is one of the brand's most iconic watches! It is best known for being worn by adventurer Naomi Uemura between 1974 and 1976, when he traveled 12,500 km solo on a dog sled from Greenland to Alaska, proving its reliability in extreme conditions.

But there are other reasons too. Indeed, this diver's from the 70's, the Seiko 6105, became famous thanks to the movie Apocalypse Now, in which it is worn by Captain Willard. This edition pays homage to its big sister with its shapes and its vintage spirit that made its success, only two details have changed: the water resistance has been increased from 150 to 200 meters and the material of the glass has been replaced by anti-reflective curved sapphire glass.

This version is 42.7 mm in diameter, with a matte black dial and bezel punctuated with orange accents that capture the play of light shining under the night sea. The hour markers and hands are coated with Lumibrite to ensure optimal legibility in the darkest of conditions.

The watch comes with a fabric strap that incorporates a traditional Japanese weaving technique called Seichu. Its strength and resistance to degradation from sun exposure meet the highest standards of Seiko Prospex dive watches. An additional black silicone strap is also included in the box.

Technical side

This Prospex Diver's is equipped with the manufacture caliber 6R35 with automatic winding. This is one of the Japanese firm's essential movements, which is used in most of the brand's top-of-the-line watches. It beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers a comfortable 72-hour power reserve, allowing you to alternate with your other watches without having to systematically wind it. Designed to be reliable and robust, its construction is intended to be as simple as possible. Precision level, the tolerance indicated by Seiko is -15 to +25 seconds per day.
