This watch reference SRPH99k1 is from the Prospex collection, a line for sports enthusiasts and adventure seekers, whether in the water, in the air or on land. Prospex simply stands for "Professional Specifications", as all Seiko dive watches comply with the ISO 6425 standard.

This very specific model is called by collectors "Tortoise", because it takes the style of the iconic Turtle, in a version revised for the field. Gone is the diving bezel, replaced by a compass bezel. Same shape, same size, but totally different utility.

On this version, we find a 42.4mm diameter case with a neat finish, equipped with a black nylon strap. The case has an anti-scratch carbonized titanium coating. Its beautiful black dial is enhanced by a unidirectional bezel of the same color for more intensity, and is topped by a sapphire crystal to protect it from shocks and scratches. The indexes are very legible thanks to the use of Lumibrite, a luminescent material patented by the Japanese firm.

To ensure a water resistance of 200 meters, this SRPH99K1 has a screwed crown protected by the case middle.

Technical side

This Prospex Diver's is equipped with the manufacture caliber 4R35 with automatic winding. This is one of the Japanese firm's essential movements, which is used in most of the brand's watches. It beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers 42 hours of power reserve, allowing you to alternate with your other watches without having to systematically wind it. Designed to be reliable and robust, its construction is as simple as possible. As for complications, the date is displayed in a window at four o'clock, which is very practical for everyday use!
