The origins

The history of diving cannot do without the iconic Submariner! The quintessence of the diving watch, the absolute reference in the field, the "Sub" is truly the queen of the seas. It symbolizes the history of underwater conquests since 1953.
The first Oyster watch to be waterproof to 100 meters, it has never ceased to evolve with versions for 200 and 300 meters of depth as it has been successively developed. It symbolizes Rolex's supremacy in terms of water resistance, without denying its origins.

The reference 114060 was unveiled by Rolex at the Basel Fair 2012, and replaced the Submariner 14060M. At that time, it had nothing in common with the previous model! A more muscular case, a ceramic bezel, making this reference a modern classic of undated Submariner design!

This model is so beloved by collectors, as it modernizes the iconic "Sub" design, while building on over half a century of history. The 114060 is also one of the most robust and solid references Rolex has produced to date.

The Submariner 114060 is distinguished primarily by its "Maxi Case". Its classic 40mm diameter feels much more massive than previous models for several reasons. You will notice that the crown protector surrounding the screwed-in Triplock crown is considerably larger and that the lugs are not only much wider, but also squarer than on the other models. As for the dial, it remains very classic, with its black lacquer, ringed indexes and a Mercedes hand. The whole is filled with the white Chromalight luminescent coating that shines with a beautiful blue color in the dark.

Inside this 114060 is the Rolex caliber 3130, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. Like all Perpetual movements, the 3130 is COSC certified. Its architecture, common to all movements in the Oyster range, gives it unparalleled precision and fiability. The oscillator, the true heart of the watch, includes a patented blue Parachrom balance spring manufactured by Rolex in an exclusive alloy. Providing great resistance to magnetic fields, this balance spring is highly stable in the face of temperature variations and remains up to ten times more accurate than a traditional balance spring in the event of shocks.

This model also features the 904L Oyster steel bracelet, reference 97200, which has the Oysterlock safety clasp to prevent accidental opening! It also features the Glidelock extension system. This ingenious system housed in the clasp allows, without the need for any tools, to precisely adjust the length of the bracelet in 2 mm increments. Thus, the watch can be worn over a wetsuit up to 3mm thick or offer extra comfort in any other circumstance.

The package

This Submariner is in excellent condition. It will be delivered in a service pouch, with its 2013 warranty card and a Rolex service document made in November 2020. This watch has been authenticated by our authorized Rolex watchmaker and benefits from the Lepage Vintage one year warranty. You can benefit from a free engraving (case back) upon request.
