Millésime Moon Phase

Since its creation, the Millésime collection has embodied a watchmaking ideal based on authenticity, clarity of design, and fidelity to the great Swiss traditions. With this new interpretation of the moon phase, Raymond Weil affirms its ambition: to offer a classic complication in a resolutely retro-modern case, without ever betraying the vintage spirit that animates it.

In this model, the moon phase is not just an aesthetic nod to the past: it becomes a point of balance, a living element of the sectored dial. The overall effect evokes the watchmaking of yesteryear, but transposed with finesse into the realm of accessible, well-designed luxury.

Design

The midnight blue dial features the sectored architecture typical of the Millésime collection. Three circles interact visually: the seconds on the periphery, the minutes closer together, and the hours more central, forming a legible, balanced and deeply graphic composition. Each zone has a different surface treatment: a spiral for the minute track, a smooth finish for the hour track, and delicate vertical brushing in the center. The whole is crossed by an embossed central cross, the discreet emblem of the collection.

The moon phase complication is revealed at 6 o'clock in a perfectly integrated circular opening. It features a stylized moon with a human face, accompanied by stars on a constellated background. This design, both poetic and understated, gives the dial a real soul. The “Automatic” display is discreetly positioned as a counterpoint, without detracting from the harmony of the composition.

The dauphine hands are rose gold-plated and treated with Super-LumiNova®, ensuring excellent readability even in the dark. The 39.5 mm steel case is entirely covered in rose gold PVD, in a subtle play of contrasting finishes: vertical satin-finished bezel, polished bevel, polished lugs on the top and satin-finished on the sides.

It is topped with a domed Glassbox sapphire crystal, treated with anti-reflective coating on both sides. This glass highlights the depth of the dial and accentuates the vintage inspiration. Finally, the watch is mounted on a supple, grained blue calfskin strap, adorned with a “W” shaped topstitching, the discreet signature of the House, and closed by a rose gold PVD ardillon buckle.

The movement

The model is equipped with the automatic caliber RW4280, based on the Sellita SW280-1. This movement displays hours, minutes, central seconds, and moon phases, with a power reserve of 41 hours. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) for excellent regularity.

Visible through a transparent clip-on case back, the caliber reveals its RW-signed oscillating weight. The case is just 10.05 mm thick, ideal for everyday wear, even under a shirt sleeve. Water-resistant to 50 meters, it is perfect for everyday use.
