Ressence : A 21st Century Manufacture

Ressence was founded in 2010 by Benoît Mintiens, with one goal in mind: to challenge the status quo of the mechanical watch, its relevance in modern times, and to renew an industry that seems to rest on its past achievements. Winner of the 2013 Horological Revelation award at the prestigious Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix, Ressence approaches contemporary Haute Horlogerie in a singular way: combining Swiss-made calibers with exclusive innovations developed in-house to reimagine how, in the present day, mechanical watches can function and interact with their user.

A new way to tell time

The starting point of RESSENCE is the deconstruction of the traditional watch in order to express Time in the purest possible way. This original concept is summarized by the motto "BEYONDHANDS". The Ressence watchmakers have replaced conventional watch hands with rotating discs for an intuitive reading of Time. Thus, all Ressence watches share the same inimitable DNA. Their sub-dials rotate continuously, just like the main disc in which they are inserted, a bit like moons orbiting a planet.

Type 1 : The essential

The Type 1 is Ressence's most refined and essential watch to date. Intended to be the timepiece of the 21st century, it respects the "less is more" philosophy by providing a visual balance, a mix of simplicity and complexity.

Type 2 : The intelligent

The Type 2 adds a degree of complexity to the world of Haute Horlogerie, while simplifying the user experience. Indeed, Ressence has developed an intelligent e-Crown® crown based on a harmonious integration of mechanical and electronic elements, allowing your watch to be perfectly adjusted at all times.

Type 3 : The spectacular

The Type 3 offers an amazing visual spectacle that gives you the impression of being able to "touch time". The first oil-filled mechanical watch, its dial is immersed to create a "water drop" effect allowing a 3D spherical display with crystal clear readability, giving the impression that the watch face seems closer, without being obstructed by the glass.

Type 5 : The diver

With the Type 5, Benoît Mintiens and his team propose a natural and logical continuation of the ideas implemented with the Type 3. Considered the most readable dive watch of all time thanks to its dial immersed in an oil bath, this Haute Horlogerie piece is nonetheless a true diver's watch, with its marine turtle design and ISO6425 certification.
